Hi Allegra,

Earlier today, the Prime Minister announced that Australia will go to the polls for a federal election on Saturday, May 3rd.

This is a huge moment for our country, so I wanted to take a moment to share why I’m running again and why this election matters so much for our community.

In 2022, I left a career in business and put up my hand for Wentworth because our community wanted politics to be done differently.

Our seat was being taken for granted, and our values weren’t being represented in Canberra on issues like climate change, economic reform, gender equity and integrity.

It has been an honour to represent our community over the past three years, the same community where I grew up and where I’m now raising a family.

And I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together.

We’ve turned the ship around on climate, with tougher laws on big polluters, record renewable investment and new standards to deliver cleaner cars. We’re on track to meet our 43% emissions reduction target by 2030, up from just 26-28% set by the previous Liberal government.

While the major parties continue to squabble, I’m proud to have led the debate on economic reform. My Tax Green Paper was the first ever to be released by a non-government MP and sets out the urgent need for long-term reform - including lowering income taxes to help young people get ahead.

I’ve helped deliver a new ombudsman to tackle sexual assault on university campuses, a Special Envoy to combat the rise in antisemitism, and our LGBTQ community will finally be counted in the census.

We've wiped $3 billion in student debt relief for 3 million Australians and helped deliver 80,000 new secure rental homes.

And Parliament finally looks more like modern Australia, including a record number of women on the crossbench.

And much more!

Importantly, more than any individual achievement, we’ve shown that politics can be done differently and that progress is possible.

Looking Forward

There is a lot more work to do in the next term of parliament.

You’ve told me you want action to:

  • Lower living costs – particularly on housing, energy, and childcare
  • Build a smarter economy – with long-term economic and tax reform
  • Accelerate climate action – to protect our natural environment
  • Create a kinder community – where everyone is welcome
  • Restore integrity to politics – and represent you, not a major party

These are big challenges that require bold solutions - politics as usual won’t do it. You can read more about my policies in detail here.

As an independent, I’ll continue to stand up for Wentworth, not party bosses. I’ll keep listening, consulting, and voting in line with our community’s values every single time.

At this election, Wentworth has a choice.

We can return to the divisive politics of the past with a major party MP whose first loyalty is to their party leader, not our community. Who will take us backwards on climate and social harmony. And who won’t have the courage to drive the economic reform we need to accelerate productivity and growth.

Or we can keep Wentworth independent and continue working together for positive change, where young people can get ahead, where we protect our environment for future generations, and where everyone is welcome and everyone has a voice.

Three things you can do to make a difference

Whether you support me or not, I will always represent our whole community in parliament. But if you want to keep Wentworth independent this election, here’s what to do.

1. Show your support with a yard sign or banner

Now is finally the time to get your yard signs and banners up. Showing your support publicly makes a massive difference.

If you have a home for a banner or a yard sign, we would love to deliver one to you!

Garages, terraces and balconies offer the perfect home, and our skilled delivery team can help with installation. Register here.

2. Come volunteer with us

Whether it’s doorknocking, handing out flyers, or making calls, every little bit helps! We would love to have you on board. Sign up to join the team here.

3. Come to an event and bring your friends!

Over the next few weeks, we will be hosting several fun events and activations, which will be a great opportunity to come along and have a chat. Bring a friend who hasn’t had the chance to get involved yet. Stay tuned via our events page and my socials for updates.

Thank you for trusting me to represent our wonderful community. I’ll always stand up for your values and do my very best to be your voice in Canberra.

Let's do this, Wentworth!
