March 16th Edgecliff Door Knocking Session

Join us to door knock our local area and share information with residents about how they can save money on their energy bills and help the environment through local council, state and federal government programs, as well as hear what's important to people. All door knockers will meet beforehand at a café to receive a final briefing and pick up materials, and then will be placed into pairs to door knock for about 1.5 hours.

Door knocking will happen behind the Centre, so exit through the back entrance once the briefing is over.

Volunteers must have completed some door knocking training before attending. If you have any questions, give the contact person a call on the number below.

You will need:

  • to register for an account with 'KnockHQ' here, the technology we are using to design maps and log data (don't worry, it's very simple and we can teach you how to use it! If you don't feel comfortable with technology, we will have a paper option too!)
  • a tote bag to put some materials in that voters may ask for (we will provide these!)
  • some walking shoes

By engaging in doorknocking, you will be in contact with personal data, some from the AEC. This means that by submitting this form, you agree to this addendum of the Volunteer Agreement you have previously signed. Please see below for details. If you'd like to see the full revised Agreement, then click here.

Privacy and confidentiality

You may be given access to confidential and personal information in the course of your volunteering. This may include excerpts from the Electoral Roll, personal information of other volunteers, information about campaign strategy and any other information identified as confidential or which is by its nature confidential. You agree:

  • not to use or disclose any of this information (particularly electoral roll data) for any purpose other than the proper discharge of your duties as a volunteer for use;
  • not to make copies of any confidential or personal information; and
  • to ensure that if you need to hold confidential or personal information to fulfil your volunteer duties, you will do it in a way which ensures the ongoing confidentiality and privacy of that information (including protecting it from other volunteers who may not need to see it as part of their volunteer duties).

Please also make sure that Signal is downloaded on your phone so we can communicate with you if we need!
