Hi Allegra,

Early voting is now open – and the energy on the ground has been nothing short of incredible.

We have just 9 days left to keep strong, sensible, local leadership in our hands. Every conversation with a friend or neighbour could help shape the outcome and keep Wentworth independent.

I want Australia to be a place where young people can get ahead, our businesses thrive, and we protect the environment for future generations.

We face some big challenges as a country – whether on housing, productivity, tax reform, the energy transition, or Australia’s place in the world. The next parliament must show the kind of bold ambition that has so far been lacking from either major party in this election campaign.

Independents on the crossbench that strengthen the centre are not a threat to stability - it's an opportunity to raise the standard of policymaking, bring new ideas to the table, and drive real change.

Read my op-ed in the AFR today.

As an Independent, I’m proud to advocate, legislate, and vote for our community.

I advocate on the tough issues that the major parties are too scared of, like leading the national push to reform our tax system.

I legislate to make our country’s laws better, like amendments I helped secure to toughen-up laws on Australia’s biggest polluters.

And I vote, every single time based on the values of our community – not based on what I’m told to do by Peter Dutton or Anthony Albanese.

Below, you’ll find a summary of my policy platform - the plan I’ll keep fighting for with your support.

Lower living costs:

  • End bracket creep to lower income taxes and start the tax reform process
  • Permanently lower power bills through incentives for solar, batteries, efficient appliances and insulation - read more
  • Increase housing supply through reform of housing regulations, double investment in social housing and protect renters' rights - read more

Smarter economy:

  • Reform our tax system to boost productivity and help young people get ahead
  • Make it simpler for small businesses to employ people, reduce red tape and increase capital for innovation
  • Get better value for taxpayer money on infrastructure spending

Read more about my plan to build a smarter economy.

Climate action:

  • Accelerate the clean energy roll-out to meet our 2030 target
  • Set an ambitious but achievable goal of up to 75% reduction in emissions by 2035
  • Fix our broken environmental laws, end native forest logging and create an independent Environment Protection Authority

Kinder community:

  • Stronger protections against antisemitism and racism
  • Stop LGBTQ+ kids and teachers being kicked out of school because of who they are
  • Invest in mental health, especially young people and complex cases
  • Support for domestic violence services and access to childcare
  • Close the gap for First Nations people and support refugees

Integrity in Politics:

  • Ban all gambling ads
  • Create a Whistleblower Protection Authority
  • Improve transparency in the National Anti-Corruption Commission

Read more about my plan to restore integrity in politics.

Focusing on Wentworth:

  • Support more investment and choice in public education
  • Stand up for renters' rights and give incentives to landlords to permanently reduce renters' power bills
  • Protect our green spaces and our oceans
  • Protect housing density and unique character, like in Potts Point
