There’s a lot to like in this budget. The government has benefited from strong revenue growth – and
it’s banked most of this to deliver a surplus this year and lower deficits in future. Spending restraint is
critical to reducing inflationary pressure – and whilst the government should have gone further – the
Treasurer has shown real responsibility.
