Hi Allegra,

We don’t talk much about our tax system – but the truth is, we urgently need tax reform.

Tax is central to the big issues we're facing right now - cost of living, housing, climate change, and our economic prosperity. And it's central to stopping young Australians falling behind.

But the major parties have been playing wedge politics so hard, that they’ve abandoned these problems.

This is why I have been conducting a tax reform process, bringing together key stakeholders for a series of roundtables.

The next step in this process will be to release a Green Paper in the coming months. But before I do this, I want to get Wentworth's views.

I think all policies should be debated on merit. So I have asked Tennant Reed from the Australian Industry Group and Alison Reeve from the Grattan Institute, two thoughtful contributors to the energy debate, to provide their perspectives.

Politics in the Pub returns with David Pocock
